About CHUMAK Volunteer Team

CHUMAK Volunteer Team is a small informal volunteer initiative based in Essen in the Ruhr area, North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany. Since 2022, we have supported units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with needs-based aid from Germany.

This is a matter of principle for us. We do not work in the civilian sector because we believe that a strong army is the foundation of people’s safety and the key to Victory.

We focus most of our effort on vehicles for specific Ukrainian units. In addition, depending on current needs, we also provide computers, selected equipment, medical supplies and other necessary aid.

We work through direct contact with military units, as well as through trusted partners and fellow volunteers. For us, the result matters more than the noise around it. If a need can be met quickly, we do not drag things out.

Our logistics already stretches from Ireland to Kharkiv. Support also comes from different countries: our donors include people from the United States, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany and Ukraine.

We do not use donations for ourselves. All donated funds go directly toward aid, while trips and related expenses are covered separately at our own cost.

We are a small initiative, so we focus on what we can genuinely do well: quickly find, purchase, deliver and hand over what is actually needed.
